Building Community One Luncheon at a Time
Good Ole Metairie Boys is a social club serving Jefferson Parish, Louisiana. We have no membership dues. We have no paid members. We are a non-profit organization serving our members and our Jefferson Parish community.
Formed decades ago, the Good Ole Metairie Boys is a group of senior men and women from the Greater New Orleans area who meet for lunch the first Wednesday of each month for camaraderie, a good meal and the chance to listen to a fantastic array of guest speakers on area topics ranging from sports, politics, civic improvements, area history, and the media arena. Many of our members were area business owners or senior management. Many of our members are veterans. Many of our members are currently retired.
- We have no political or religious affiliation. We welcome members of all creeds, all orientations, and all ethnicities.
- We are a non-profit social club whose purpose is to educate and entertain our membership through monthly luncheon meetings with fantastic guest speakers.
- We currently have about 80 members and we are looking to increase that membership. We serve our community by providing area scholarships and Thanksgiving baskets.

Our Luncheon Speakers:
- In recent months our speakers have included: 4-time Grammy Nominee Michael O’Hara, Jefferson Parish Sheriff Joseph Lopinto, WWII Museum Ambassador Ronnie Abboud, WWL TV Chief Meteorologist Chris Franklin, Councilwoman Jennifer Van Vranken and Jefferson Parish President Cynthia Lee Sheng, futurist Dr. Gary Arnold, River Ridge Christian School Coach J.T. Curtis, JPAS Maestro Dennis Assaf, Author and Retired LA Judge James Brown, and Jefferson Parish Coroner Gerry Cvitanovich MD.
- Our upcoming speakers include Louisiana Insurance Commissioner Tim Temple, Treasure Chest Casino Executive Sous Chef Birai Aguilar, New Orleans Health Director Dr. Jennifer Avegno, Senator Bill Cassidy, and Military Veterans Advocacy CEO John Wells.
- In addition to our regular monthly lunch meetings, we have an annual seafood buffet party in the spring (the week after Mother’s Day) and a Christmas party in December at additional cost to the members and guests.
- We welcome guests to come and have lunch with us. The only cost is $18.00 for lunch. We have no dues; you only pay for meetings you attend. We meet at The Landing Ballroom (Formally St. Jerome K. C. Hall), 3110 Florida Ave., Kenner, La. Socializing begins at 10:30 and lunch and the meeting start at 12 noon.
